Flood Protection Works in Olympiada, Aristotelis Municipality

This project involves the construction of essential works to protect residents and their properties near the banks of the two streams, Baxina and Basdeki, from flooding. It also aims to prevent erosion or sedimentation of their beds caused by natural or human factors. The proposed works include: • Construction of three flood protection dams within the beds of the two streams, with heights of 3.50m and lengths of 17.30m for the first, 2.00m and lengths of 30.00m for the second, and 2.50m and lengths of 28.15m for the third. • Flood management works to regulate the flow of water in the two streams and their confluence, involving the shaping of the cross-section with an open rectangular section with L-shaped walls of variable height made of reinforced concrete or with a trapezoidal section with slopes lined with gabions. The bed will be covered with gabion mattresses filled with stones.
