Climate Analysis Services for the City of Bad Kreuznach

The City of Bad Kreuznach is seeking services from architecture, construction, and engineering firms to conduct a comprehensive climate analysis. Due to its geographical location, the city experiences poor air mixing and exchange, leading to frequent temperature inversions. The number of hot days has increased significantly from 85 days in the 1948-1957 decade to 183 days in the 2008-2017 decade, with the average daily temperature rising from 9.7°C to 11.1°C. This project aims to integrate climate considerations into urban planning, particularly in preparation for the new land use plan. A city-wide climate analysis and planning reference map will be developed to provide essential information for climate-resilient urban development. The findings will inform the ecological assessment of potential development areas identified in a separate analysis. The ecological assessment will also propose development principles and action packages to ensure climate-friendly development of these areas.
