Sweden – New Preparation for Demineralized Water Production at Idbäcken Power Plant

The Idbäcken power plant in Nyköping produces electricity and district heating. The base load is provided by Boiler 3, a bubbling fluidized bed boiler that burns biomass, primarily using recycled wood chips. The boiler generates steam with data up to 540°C/140 bar. The flue gases produced are cleaned using textile filters with slaked lime and activated carbon. Afterward, the flue gases are condensed in a direct-contact tube condenser. The resulting condensate is purified before being discharged into the recipient. The tender should include the delivery, installation, commissioning, and training for a complete reverse osmosis (RO) based system for producing demineralized water from ultrafiltered flue gas condensate and/or softened municipal water, including the necessary pumps, instruments, and storage tanks.
