Germany – Development and Maintenance of Database and Operating System Software for the National Cycling Route Planner

This contract involves the implementation and operation of software and system infrastructure that enables nationwide cycling route planning based on interconnected regional systems. The contractor is required to take over or recreate existing functionalities from the current website (www.Radroutenplaner-Deutschland.de), including interfaces to regional systems. The transition for partners (supplying systems from the regions) and users should be as seamless as possible. The product, the National Cycling Route Planner, must be further developed to ensure comprehensive availability and route calculation across Germany. An alternative route calculation for regions without a partner system is also necessary. The RRP-D will connect the offerings of the regions and provide a qualitatively adequate alternative for areas without partner systems. The contractor will review available resources (external routing data or services) and present the alternative system to the client, ensuring that quality requirements are met. Additionally, there is a provision for optional further development, service, support, and assistance, with a contingent of up to 150 person-days. The client is not obligated to request these additional services, either partially or fully.
