    Brief

The City of Gospić is seeking suppliers for the procurement of electricity for a period of 24 months, starting immediately upon the execution of the decision and signing of the framework agreement. In line with the Europe 2020 Strategy, one of the goals at the EU level is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in final energy consumption by 20%. The EU's 7th Environmental Action Program sets a strategic goal for 2020 to implement at least 50% of public procurement using green public procurement criteria, a goal that Croatia has adopted. On August 26, 2015, the Croatian government adopted the first National Action Plan for Green Public Procurement for the period from 2015 to 2017, with a view to 2020. This plan focuses on introducing basic green criteria in public procurement for priority groups of products and services, including electricity. The City of Gospić requires that at least 50% of the total electricity supplied by the selected supplier must be produced from renewable energy sources (referred to as 'green energy'). This requirement aims to stimulate the production of energy from renewable sources, making it more competitive with energy from conventional sources, and to encourage the construction of new renewable energy sources for sustainable development. According to the current Electricity Market Act, renewable energy sources include wind, solar, aerothermal, geothermal, hydrothermal energy, marine energy, water flow energy, biomass energy, landfill gas, wastewater treatment plant gas, and biogas. The CPV code for this procurement is 09310000-5 Electricity.
