Construction Work at Former Ford Site in Saarlouis

Ford will cease production of the FOCUS at its Saarlouis plant by November 2025. Approximately 1,000 jobs will remain on-site until around 2032. The site includes the main plant and the Ford Industrial Supplier Park (FISP). The plant will gradually reduce its area to a section called 'Ford 1000'. To prepare the released areas for the Ravensburg pharmaceutical company Vetter, a phased demolition of the site and its infrastructure is necessary. This demolition will start at the Winter Staging Area (WSP) and the subcontractor area (Lot 1), followed by the 'Compound' area (Lots 2 & 3), and finally the production area 'Assembly' along with a new access road, the 'Saarland Corridor', as additional lots. This specific project, part of the overall Saarlouis Roden industrial area (ISR), is referred to as 'Compound Area, Demolition of Areas Lot 3: Provision of Construction Services'. The work includes removing surface layers and underlying support layers (HO gravel), storing them on designated areas, and reusing suitable materials after proper processing. Existing infrastructure (channels, water pipes, separators, etc.) must be properly decommissioned and demolished to a depth of 1.00 m below the ground surface if no longer needed. The Compound consists of two areas: Compound North (Component 1A) and Compound South (Component 1B). During the demolition, the buildings in the Compound area will also be dismantled.
