Housing Support Services for Homeless Young People

Kirklees Council is inviting tenders from experienced providers to deliver housing support services for young people who are homeless at Swan Lane. The service will operate in a supported accommodation setting, providing year-round support and housing. The goal is to help young people develop the skills needed to either return home or transition to independent living or suitable supported housing. The accommodation is located at North House, Swan Lane, Lockwood, Huddersfield HD13TW, and includes 9 en-suite bedrooms, communal areas, a kitchen, and an office. An emergency crash pad will also be available for urgent situations, ensuring that existing service users are prioritized. Kirklees Council owns the property, and the selected provider will lease it for the duration of the contract. The lease will include a rent agreement, which will be determined during the procurement process, with annual adjustments based on the consumer price index. The provider will also be responsible for maintenance and repairs. The estimated annual value of the services is approximately £187,859, with potential increases to be confirmed in March 2025. The contract is expected to start on April 1, 2025, and will run until March 31, 2030, with options to extend for up to five additional years.
