Theater Trier Expansion and Renovation Project

The City of Trier is seeking architectural services for the renovation and expansion of the Trier Theater, a prominent venue that hosts music, dance, drama, and musicals, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually. The existing theater building, constructed in the early 1960s, is in urgent need of renovation due to its deteriorating condition and technical issues. The project aims to modernize the building, improve stage technology, and redesign the audience area for better acoustics. Additionally, two new structures will be built: a new entrance hall with a foyer, cloakroom, main box office, and restrooms (approximately 890 square meters) and an orchestra rehearsal room with additional spaces and restrooms (approximately 670 square meters). The design competition will focus on the architectural and urban planning aspects of these expansions, ensuring they integrate well with the existing theater and enhance its connection to the city center. The competition is linked to a separate negotiation process for general planning services related to the renovation and expansion of the theater.
