Installation of Outdoor Lighting in The Hague

The city of The Hague has approximately 80,000 streetlights spread throughout its area. The Urban Management Department - Public Lighting & Charging Infrastructure of The Hague Municipality is responsible for managing and maintaining public lighting. The municipality aims to accelerate the rollout of energy-efficient LED lighting in the coming years. A financial boost has been provided by the city council for this initiative. The municipality expects to replace around 20,000 conventional streetlights with energy-efficient LED lights by the end of 2027. In 2023, the municipality entered into an agreement with two suppliers for the development, production, and delivery of a family of streetlights based on a design concept from the municipality, known as 'residential lights.' These residential lights are now in production and can be used within the public lighting area of The Hague. This contract involves the systematic installation of residential lights to replace the conventional lights currently in use in the city. Additionally, approximately 5,000 light poles will be replaced as part of preventive maintenance or due to reaching the end of their technical lifespan. The municipality of The Hague is seeking a contractor to carry out this project, which includes the following main components: a) Replacing streetlights on a street-by-street basis; b) Replacing light objects on a street-by-street basis; c) Supplying poles; d) Providing equipment and personnel.
