    Brief

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) is looking for community organizations with experience in community engagement and established networks in the Parkside area of Bradford (BD5). The selected organizations will collaborate on the 'Community Collaboratives' initiative and support research for the Healthy Urban Places (HUP) program. The organizations should have a proven track record in engaging with local communities and a genuine interest in health, environment, and community development. The Healthy Urban Places (HUP) program, funded by UK Research Innovation and part of Population Health Improvement UK, is a four-year research initiative aimed at understanding how local urban environments can improve population health and reduce inequalities. HUP investigates how factors like housing, local amenities, job access, and community spaces affect health outcomes through research involving local communities and stakeholders. HUP is establishing 'Community Collaboratives' in Bradford and Liverpool, bringing together communities, researchers, and decision-makers to co-produce insights on what constitutes a healthy place. The program seeks to influence local policies and practices based on these insights. Community organizations will coordinate community-led research activities and engage local stakeholders, with support from HUP researchers who will provide training in research skills. The goal is to produce meaningful research on healthy urban places that can inform local, regional, and national decision-makers. Healthy Urban Places is hosted by Born-in-Bradford (Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) and is part of a national research network focused on transforming health and reducing inequalities at the population level.
