Business Development Services for Clean Energy in Mozambique

The Government of Mozambique is seeking suppliers to provide Business Development Services (BDS) to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the clean cooking and solar energy sectors. Mozambique faces significant challenges in energy access, with only about 49% of the population electrified and rural areas having less than 10% access. Many rural households depend on biomass for cooking, which poses health risks and environmental issues. The Energy Transition Strategy (ETS) aims to promote universal energy access and the use of renewable energy. This contract focuses on enhancing the operational capacity of at least 12 SMEs by providing tailored training and mentoring in areas such as business model development, customer management, and digital tools. The goal is to help these companies create financing-ready proposals, improve gender equality, and integrate climate resilience into their operations. The program will also emphasize last-mile distribution and sustainable practices, ultimately contributing to Mozambique's energy goals and commitments.
