Installation of Electrical Systems at Wankdorf Station

The AS25 project involves the electrical installations for all electrical work at Wankdorf Station, including track field lighting. The project will renew the entire platform area (PA02) of Wankdorf Station. The existing pedestrian bridge will be demolished and rebuilt in the southern part, and a new exit to Stauffacherstrasse will be created. Lighting will be installed using SBB standard fixtures, and exits to the platforms will have standardized handrail lights. The platform area, including the central platform (PA02) between tracks 2 and 3, will be constructed in several phases with multiple interim operational phases. The platform will have both covered and uncovered sections, equipped with compliant lighting and customer information systems (KIS). The existing TK03 on the central platform will be completely renewed, as will TK04 at the main platform. A new TK05 will be created at the exit to Stauffacherstrasse, with all TK rooms located under the respective stair exits. The main platform (PA01) will remain largely unchanged, with only minor adjustments and additions. Operational provisions: The expansion of the railway line between Wankdorf and Ostermundigen will require various track usage phases. Accordingly, the public facilities at both stations must be adapted to the respective operational phases. For Wankdorf Station (WKD), a provisional main footbridge will be constructed parallel to the replacement of the current footbridge, along with an additional side footbridge from Stauffacherstrasse to the central platform, as well as provisional TK03 and TK04 during the construction phases. Public facilities will need to be adapted to the corresponding operational phases throughout the approximately twelve-year construction period (2026 to 2038), with temporary facilities designed similarly to permanent ones and handed over to operations.
