Private Medical Benefits Administrator for Transport for London

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking to procure a Private Medical Benefits Administrator for a new contract commencing 1 April 2027. The initial contract period is three years with an optional two-year extension (1+1), subject to TfL's discretion. The successful Administrator will manage the private medical benefit scheme for approximately 7,100 employees and eligible dependants, including assessing claims, processing payments, and providing member support services. Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality service through efficient claims processing, responsive member helpline support, and proactive account management. The Administrator must demonstrate strong cost control capabilities and experience managing medical treatment spend through appropriate pathways, including direct access to musculoskeletal services and open referral networks. The provider must also ensure effective implementation and transition planning to maintain service continuity with minimal disruption. The estimated contract value reflects anticipated administration fees and stop-loss insurance premiums over the maximum five-year term and is indicative only.
