Project Management for Construction of a New Hangar Building for DLR Facility in Aachen Merzbrück

The project aims to create a new hangar building for the DLR facility focused on small aircraft technologies, established to promote environmentally friendly aviation. The hangar will support research and development in electric flying and urban mobility, contributing to climate-friendly aviation solutions. It will include office spaces, testing rooms, and direct access to the runway, accommodating around 120 employees. The project is part of a broader initiative to foster innovative technologies in collaboration with regional partners, enhancing job creation and societal acceptance of sustainable aviation. The building will be constructed to meet the Silver Standard of the Sustainable Building Assessment System (BNB), ensuring ecological and economic quality throughout its lifecycle. The total estimated cost of the project is €25.4 million, with a phased approach to project management services.
