Construction Services for School Renovation and Sports Hall

The municipality of Bietigheim/Baden is planning the renovation and expansion of an existing three-story school building, including a basement, into a three-stream primary school with a new cafeteria/event space and a single-field sports hall. The existing building and caretaker's building have been assessed for hazardous materials, and remediation will be carried out before the main construction work begins. At the same time, the caretaker's building and the eastern entrance structure will be completely demolished. Inside the existing building, a complete gutting and demolition of the wooden roof structure will take place. The existing building will receive extensions on the east and west sides, each adding additional classrooms on the first and second floors. These extensions are designed to provide structural support for the existing building. On the east side facing Tullastr., a single-story extension will be built, which will include the new cafeteria with a regeneration kitchen, the main entrance with an event room, and the single-field sports hall with its ancillary rooms. The steel construction and locksmith work will include the production and installation of railings in both the exterior and interior (e.g., main staircase). Primarily, this involves steel frame railings with a filling made of stainless steel mesh, which will be tensioned and installed in a stainless steel frame. Additionally, simple flat steel railings consisting of handrails, knee braces, and railing posts will be constructed in the exterior area. On the south side of the existing building, a two-story escape balcony with two single-flight stairs will be constructed as a steel structure along the entire length of the building. The walkways and stair treads will consist of grating surfaces. The entire structure will be erected on concrete foundations provided by the client and will be stabilized without connection to the building. Also on the south side, a waste house with bicycle parking spaces will be constructed from reinforced concrete. The enclosure of the waste house will consist of sliding doors and fixed elements made from a steel tube frame with sheet metal cladding made of Corten steel and special perforations. The existing oversized light shafts made of reinforced concrete that remain on the existing building must be adjusted to the new ground level with an additional steel structure and grating cover. Inside the basement, steel doors with and without fire protection requirements will be installed.
