This contract provides employment support services for individuals undergoing structured treatment for substance misuse. Employment serves as a key motivational factor in recovery. The service includes: connecting individuals with local employers and job opportunities; developing job search and interview skills; writing CVs and building confidence; providing benefits advice and work incentive guidance; liaising with benefits agencies on behalf of service users; and offering ongoing workplace support. Specialist employment advisors work closely with each participant to identify personal strengths, set realistic employment goals, and secure paid work placements. The service is funded by OHID (Office for Health Improvement and Disparities) grant funding and is commissioned by Stockton Borough Council on behalf of both Stockton and Hartlepool Borough Councils.
