Netherlands – Medical Equipment – Voluntary Transparency for Providing Kidney Preservation Machines with Full Oxygenation

The contract involves providing kidney preservation machines with full oxygenation, including all accessories and disposables. This includes leasing the kidney preservation machines, along with oxygen, disposables, and other necessary components and materials such as shipping and handling, cannulas, probes, sensors, batteries/charger, cooling box assembly, path holders/patch doubles, probes, service, maintenance, and training. The University Medical Centers (Groningen, Nijmegen, and Rotterdam) intend to enter into an agreement with Xvivo starting February 1, 2025, for a period of two (2) times two (2) years, with the possibility of extension for two (2) times one (1) year. XVIVO is the only supplier that has scientifically proven (level 1 clinical evidence) that their method of continuous oxygenation during the entire perfusion process with 100% oxygen has a beneficial effect on DCD donor kidneys older than 50 years. Currently, there are no other methods than the XVIVO method of continuous oxygenation via a hollow fiber membrane oxygenator that have been scientifically proven to be a qualitatively comparable alternative. If stakeholders wish to raise objections against the aforementioned intention, they must submit a reasoned objection against the continuation of this procedure within 20 calendar days after the publication of this announcement.
