Radiation-Tolerant NAMUR Inductive Sensors for Nuclear Operations

Sellafield Limited seeks to procure approximately 1,224 radiation-tolerant NAMUR two-wire inductive sensors for use in nuclear facilities. Sensors must be independently tested to withstand radiation exposure of 1 x 10⁶ Gray and meet stringent safety and performance standards. Key specifications include: 18mm diameter with threaded barrel and M18 x 1mm locknuts; flush fitting; DC 2-wire operation at nominal 8.2 VDC per EN 60947-5-6 (NAMUR standard); 5-10mm nominal switching distance; maximum sensor head length of 65mm; fitted electrical lead (minimum 2 metres, not M12 connector); ATEX Category II certification for gas (Zone 0) and dust (Zone 20) environments; SIL2 Low Demand Mode and SIL3 All Demand Mode certification; and IP67 protection class. Suppliers must provide an initial test batch of minimum 11 sensors manufactured from the same semiconductor component production batch for third-party radiation tolerance testing. Upon successful testing approval, the remaining order will be manufactured from the same component reel. A custom product part number is required. Quality Grade 04 applies to test sensors; Quality Grade 03 applies to production sensors.
