Brief
This contract involves specialized deep foundation work for the renovation of the former Cherry Mill in Lichtenfels. The project aims to improve the foundation conditions of the existing structure by installing small drilled piles in specific areas within the building. The work includes:
- Area in Axes (1-4) (Silo Subbuilding):
- 31 small drilled piles (diameter 150mm) with GEWI piles (diameter 50-63.5mm) at an inclination of 0 - 20°.
- After demolition, the existing room height will be greater than 3.00m.
- Complete ceiling and load-bearing structures will be demolished, leaving only the outer walls, which will be secured.
- The entire silo structure will be available for the installation of small drilled piles without ceiling restrictions.
- The existing floor slab and part of the existing floor will be demolished to prepare a level surface for the upcoming work.
- Area in Axes (1-4) (SÜC Subbuilding):
- 13 small drilled piles (diameter 150mm) with GEWI piles (diameter 50-63.5mm) at an inclination of 0 - 20°.
- After demolition, the existing room height will be greater than 3.00m.
- The intermediate building will be completely demolished along with the floor slab.
- Area in Axes (4-10) (Mill Subbuilding):
- 44 small drilled piles (diameter 150mm) with GEWI piles (diameter 50-63.5mm) at an inclination of 0 - 20°.
- After demolition, the existing room height will be greater than 3.00m (between ceiling beams), 3.10m (bottom of ceiling beams), and 2.90m (bottom of supporting beams).
- In addition to static reinforcements of the existing structures, ceiling coverings in the upper floors and the floor structure including the ground floor slab will be demolished. Temporary removal of supports in the ground floor that carry the supporting beams will be necessary, requiring load diversion structures.
- Area in Axes (10-13) (Villa Subbuilding):
- 25 small drilled piles (diameter 150mm) with GEWI piles (diameter 50-63.5mm) at an inclination of 0 - 20°.
- The existing room height will be a maximum of 2.00m.
- Work in the listed building must be minimized, and no demolition work will take place there.
- Access to the building will be through a new opening in the partition wall between the Mill and Villa.
The work will take place immediately after the described demolition and structural safety work and will lay the groundwork for the subsequent structural work, which includes the construction of strip foundations and floor slabs. The structural work will begin while the specialized deep foundation work is still ongoing, necessitating coordination between the trades.
