Emotional and Psychological Support Service for Leeds Maternity Investigation Families

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is seeking an experienced external partner to deliver comprehensive emotional and psychological support services to families affected by the Maternity Neonatal Investigation in Leeds. The successful supplier must have demonstrated expertise in supporting individuals and families dealing with pregnancy, birth, and bereavement-related trauma. The service will initially focus on families whose cases are under review as part of the Leeds inquiry, with potential expansion to support additional investigations as determined by DHSC during the contract period. Key service components include: serving as the primary contact for trauma-related and psychological concerns; providing individual and group emotional support sessions in both remote and in-person formats; conducting needs and risk assessments; offering guidance on available interventions and therapies; facilitating referrals to external services and local support networks; and delivering evidence-based psychological therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). The appointed supplier will also support the inquiry team by attending meetings and providing psychological containment for individuals involved in inquiry activities.
