    Brief

    Newark and Sherwood District Council (NSDC) is inviting tenders from qualified contractors to deliver comprehensive electrical and fire safety services and maintenance across approximately 129 communal residential properties throughout the district. The contractor will be responsible for electrical installation condition reports, fire alarm systems, fire detection systems, emergency lighting, renewable energy systems (solar PV, inverters, battery storage, EV charge points), portable appliance testing (PAT), lightning protection, door automation systems, fire dampers, sprinkler and misting systems, automatic opening ventilation (AOVs), emergency voice communication systems (EVCs), fire extinguishers, and evacuation chairs. All work must be performed by directly employed staff with BAFE-accredited engineers; sub-contractors require NSDC approval. The contract will run for an initial four-year period starting 1 May 2026, with an optional 11-month extension subject to satisfactory performance and annual review. The estimated total budget is £1,400,000 excluding VAT. The contractor will operate under the JCT Measured Term Contract 2016 with Amendments. This is an open procurement procedure in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023, managed by Welland Procurement in partnership with the Council.
