    Brief

This contract involves the ongoing supply of laboratory reagents for the Biological Activity Testing Laboratory and Biological Material Collection. The reagents are specifically intended for human whole genome sequencing using the Illumina® NextSeq 2000 sequencer, which is owned by the user. The reagents fall under group 8, which includes chemical reagents for highly specialized research applications (for research, experimental, scientific, and developmental purposes). The contract is funded by the Medical Research Agency under agreement number 2023/ABM/02/00003-00. Detailed descriptions of the required quantities and types of reagents are provided in the pricing and assortment sheet, which is Annex 2 to the Terms of Reference. The quantities listed are estimates for comparison purposes, and actual orders will be based on the users' real needs. If trademarks, patents, or specific processes are mentioned, it indicates that the contracting authority could not describe the subject matter clearly enough. In such cases, references to trademarks or patents should be interpreted as 'or equivalent.' The contracting authority allows for equivalent offers, meaning offers for reagents with parameters and properties that are not worse than those specified in Annex 2. If a product other than the one specified is offered, the contractor must demonstrate that their supplies meet the requirements by providing the product name, manufacturer, catalog number, or other identifying features in Annex 2. Equivalent reagents must be properly secured and of high purity, not worse than those specified in Annex 2, to ensure accurate laboratory test results. They must have the same composition and characteristics as the reagents specified in Annex 2, according to the equivalence description in that annex, and have a warranty period no shorter than that of the counterparts in Annex 2. The contractor offering equivalent reagents assumes responsibility for any damage to equipment resulting from the use of the supplied equivalent reagents, based on an opinion issued by the authorized service of the equipment manufacturer.
