Expansion of Meerdorf Primary School and Kindergarten

The municipality of Wendeburg is planning to expand the Meerdorf Primary School by adding a cafeteria in response to the introduction of the legal entitlement to all-day care. Additionally, the sanitary facilities of the primary school need to be fundamentally renovated. The reliable Meerdorf Primary School is a branch of VGS Wendeburg. Children from the villages of Meerdorf, Wense, and Rüper attend the branch in Meerdorf. The children are housed in a two-story school building surrounded by a large school property, which is divided into a playground and a lawn. The main building has three classrooms, a reading room, and sanitary facilities on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a staff room, another classroom, a materials and copying room, and a small group room. As part of the school renovation, the nursery located in the school building will be integrated into the adjacent kindergarten. This requires the expansion of the kindergarten with group and multipurpose rooms in accordance with current legal requirements. Since students, as well as kindergarten and nursery children, cannot be accommodated in other buildings/facilities, the planning of temporary spaces for interim care and education is part of the overall renovation concept. During construction, the relocation of individual groups to partially completed building sections must be considered to ensure continued operation according to requirements during the construction period.
