Asbestos Removal and Hazardous Material Remediation at Johannesschule

The project involves the removal of hazardous materials from the old building of Johannesschule before its demolition as part of the school's expansion. The old building consists of three interconnected structures built in 1907, 1926, and 1951. An assessment has been conducted to identify hazardous materials, including asbestos, synthetic mineral fibers (KMF), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB). These materials are found in various components such as radiators, fire doors, pipe insulation, ventilation ducts, adhesives, drywall, piping, and in the paint of doors, baseboards, and stair railings. All work must comply with DIN 18448 standards for handling hazardous materials, and waste must be transported and disposed of according to applicable regulations for hazardous goods and special waste. The work location is Johannesschule, Friedrich-Ebert-Str. 63, 50226 Frechen.
