Cleaning Services for Streams in Greece

This contract involves cleaning both open and closed streams in the regions of Aegina, Agistri, Hydra, and Salamina, under the jurisdiction of the Regional Unit of Islands for the years 2025-2027. The specific locations for intervention will be determined on-site by the Technical Works Directorate of the Regional Unit of Islands in Attica. In addition to the streams listed in Annex I, there may be interventions in other streams under the authority of the Regional Unit of Islands in Attica upon instruction from the Service. During the execution of the work, it is mandatory to take photographs of the intervention sites before and after the work. The cleaning tasks include: 1. Removal of sediment, waste, debris, or invasive vegetation from the streambed and banks. 2. Cutting and removal of unhealthy trees, if necessary, with permission from the Forestry Department, located on the banks and in the streambed. Trees must be cut in a way that does not disturb the banks and streambed, specifically at a height of 0.40m from the ground, with the trunk removed and the roots left in place to maintain soil stability. The cutting height is independent of the trunk circumference. 3. Cleaning of culverts and closed streams (including technical works and related projects), which involves removing sediment and waste to ensure unobstructed flow of rainwater. No alterations to the stream cross-section will be made, except for cleaning the bed from waste, debris, or vegetation. During the cleaning work, the Provider must identify and inform the Service of any areas requiring attention (e.g., eroding banks, unknown pipeline networks ending in the stream, constructions obstructing the free flow of water downstream).
