Standardization of Antimicrobial Testing Services

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is seeking suppliers to provide ongoing support for the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST). This includes the continuous updating of clinical breakpoints and testing guidelines for antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) to ensure accurate surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across EU member states. Suppliers will be responsible for validating breakpoints for minimum inhibitory concentrations and disk diffusion, revising epidemiological cutoffs (ECOFFs), coordinating guidance, disseminating outputs, and providing training for key pathogens monitored by ECDC. This procurement aims to maintain high-quality AMR surveillance in the EU by ensuring that EUCAST can adapt to new antibiotics and resistance mechanisms.
