Construction of Pathology Institute at Kreuzspital

The project at the Kreuzspital (KRZ), House K, of the Graubünden Cantonal Hospital aims to implement a Pathological Institute in the basement (1st and 2nd basement levels). This involves repurposing an existing building rather than constructing a new one. The current location of the institute in House C (KSH) is outdated due to space constraints and old infrastructure. The work includes creating detailed execution plans and supplying, installing, and commissioning laboratory facilities that meet the high hygiene standards of pathology. Facilities include work tables for tissue sample processing, safety cabinets for proper sample storage, and integrated exhaust systems for the safe removal of fumes. The scope of work also includes planning and installing the central piping network for the supply and disposal of formaldehyde, ethanol, xylene, and water. This piping network extends from the laboratories in the 1st basement to the central supply and disposal unit in the 2nd basement, ensuring safe delivery and proper disposal of these chemicals.
