Small Animal MRI System Acquisition

The Kuopio Biomedical Unit at the University of Eastern Finland is seeking to purchase a small animal MRI system that operates at a magnetic field strength of 9.4 Tesla. This system will be a standalone unit and will serve as one of the two primary in vivo MRI instruments at our imaging center, which functions as a national core facility for small animal MRI. A smooth transition to this new system is crucial. The primary applications for this MRI system include neuroimaging (such as functional and diffusion imaging) and cardiac imaging. As a national service facility, we also require the capability to perform various imaging and spectroscopic applications with quick turnaround times. Therefore, it is essential that the system has flexible multinuclear capabilities, access to validated protocols, and technical support for the rapid implementation and use of new methodologies.
