Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Contract in Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire Council has received £1,413,000 from the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund to enhance the availability of low-powered on-street electric vehicle charging points in residential areas. They are seeking service providers for two separate contracts: LEVI Tender 1 and LEVI Tender 2. LEVI Tender 1 focuses on installing residential charging points both on-street and in hubs (like car parks) with charging speeds of 7-22kW, requiring at least 500 on-street points and 200 in hub locations. This project is primarily supplier-funded, with £1,298,000 from the Council's LEVI grant supporting it. LEVI Tender 2 specifically targets the installation of residential charging points in lampposts, with speeds up to 5kW, requiring a minimum of 800 on-street points. This project is also supplier-funded, with £100,000 from the Council's LEVI grant. Both contracts will last for 15 years, with a possible 12-month extension.
