Engineering Services for New Boarding House in Schwedt/Oder, Germany

The Uckermark district is significantly influenced by the local chemical process industry. Due to the decreasing importance of fossil fuels and demographic changes, the region is under pressure to transform. To address this, the region aims to establish an "Innovation Campus" in Schwedt/Oder with funding from the Just Transition Fund (JTF). This initiative will support a series of coordinated measures to promote innovation and startups, secure jobs, and create new sustainable employment opportunities for a climate-neutral economy. In light of these structural challenges and untapped potentials, the Uckermark district plans to construct and operate a modern boarding house, which will provide temporary and affordable accommodation for young people without stable employment or sufficient income. The new boarding house will cater to trainees from all companies training in Schwedt, students from the OSZ Department 3 in Schwedt, and (working) students from outside the district. The Uckermark district expects a conceptual proposal for the new construction planning of a boarding house for trainees and students in Schwedt/Oder. The planning and phased implementation will include the construction of the boarding house and its operational structure, the design of public and private outdoor spaces, and the layout of adjacent traffic areas. The process aims to find an architectural firm capable of developing and implementing an urban planning, architectural, and substantive solution for the planned construction project.
