Service for Well Operations in Hungary

The Hungarian Gas Storage Company is seeking a service provider for well operations as part of the EUH2STARS project. This project, funded by the EU under the reference number 101137798, aims to explore and design necessary measures for the rapid development of the hydrogen economy. The project will involve injecting hydrogen produced and stored by existing hydrogen technology into the Komlós B-2 site through the PSZ-36 gas well (CH well). The goal is to gain practical experience in the underground storage and production processes of hydrogen, as well as the operation of well structures and surface technology, through two storage cycles involving the injection of 2 x 100,000 nm3 of pure hydrogen and the subsequent extraction of a gas mixture of 100,000 nm3 of natural gas and hydrogen. The PSZ-36 gas well will be modified for this project, as it has been identified as the most suitable for the operation based on geological, structural, and well integrity assessments. The existing well structure will remain partially intact, as the sand filter will not be replaced due to the lack of sand production. Key tasks include: providing services with coiled tubing and nitrogen, ensuring well services, servicing downhole tools, providing fluid technology services for well operations, and pumping services. The planned timeline for the well operations is from July to October 2025, depending on the arrival of materials, with an expected duration of 12 days. Operational availability is required from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. Detailed technical specifications are provided in the technical annex of the procurement documents.
