Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking competitive tenders from qualified electrical contractors for the complete design and replacement of electrical distribution board SP-3-3-21 in the A Block Lower Basement Plant Room at St Helier Hospital. Scope of Work: The project requires detailed surveys and circuit tracing of the existing installation, load monitoring, comprehensive electrical design with coordination studies, and installation of a new 250A Form 4 compartmentalised panel board. Works include supply and installation of approximately 50 metres of 4-core XLPE/SWA/LSF submain cable, new cable containment and supports, CT metering enclosure, earthing and bonding modifications, builder's work and fire stopping, full inspection and testing, thermographic inspection, and provision of record drawings and O&M documentation. Key Requirements: All work must be undertaken within a live operational acute hospital environment with critical emphasis on maintaining electrical supply continuity. Contractors must complete a comprehensive Isolation Impact Assessment and develop detailed switching, shutdown, and contingency plans in coordination with the Trust's Authorised Person, Estates representatives, and clinical stakeholders. Tenderers must include for all necessary temporary electrical supplies (temporary boards, cabling, generators, UPS systems) and schedule shutdowns, transfers, and commissioning outside normal working hours (nights and weekends) to minimise disruption to clinical services.
