Contract Extension for ABR Maintenance and Monitoring at Hinkley Point C

Cefas is seeking a supplier to provide maintenance and monitoring services for the Artificial Bunded Reservoirs (ABRs) at the Hinkley Point C site. The ABRs were designed to mitigate the impact of water diversion caused by construction activities on protected intertidal algal mats. The reservoirs are designed to fill with seawater during high tide and release it during low tide, with four distinct ABR schemes comprising one to seven individual reservoirs. The supplier will be responsible for ad hoc site visits to perform the following tasks: 1. Clear sediment from reservoirs and orifice plates using hand tools. 2. Conduct flow gauging by measuring the discharge rate through the reservoir outlets with a team of fieldworkers. 3. Remove and install telemetric depth gauges for performance monitoring. The contract value is £40,000, and the deadline for submissions is December 1, 2025.
