Parental Advocacy Service for Child Protection Processes

Warwickshire County Council seeks a dedicated service provider to offer parental representation and advocacy support for families involved in statutory Child Protection processes. This service is essential under the council's participation in Wave 2 of the Families First for Children Pathfinder Programme (FFCP). Parents and carers currently experience significant distress, confusion, and limited meaningful involvement in child protection proceedings, leading to reduced engagement and poorer outcomes for families and children. The required service must inform, support, and empower families throughout Child Protection processes, with the goals of reducing trauma and stigma, combating isolation, building trust, and improving family engagement. Data from November 2024 to November 2025 demonstrates substantial need: 715 Section 47 enquiries and 297 Initial Child Protection Conferences involved 1,807 children. Suitable providers should demonstrate expertise in family advocacy, understanding of child protection frameworks, and ability to deliver sensitive, accessible support to vulnerable families.
