Wheelchair and Postural Services for North Yorkshire and York

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is seeking qualified providers to deliver comprehensive Wheelchair and Postural Services across North Yorkshire and York. This is a competitive procurement under The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The successful provider will deliver a person-centred, clinically safe, and cost-effective service. Key requirements include: conducting holistic assessments of posture and mobility needs considering medical conditions, functional abilities, social circumstances and environment; providing ongoing postural support and pressure relief appropriate to individual needs; meeting wider health and wellbeing requirements; improving quality of life and independence; offering Personal Wheelchair Budgets where eligible; reducing hospital admissions and length of stay; and ensuring wheelchair users and carers are actively involved in assessment and provision decisions through patient-centred outcome measures. Providers should demonstrate experience in delivering dignified, high-quality wheelchair services that prioritise individual choice and clinical excellence.
