First-Year Maintenance Contract for 21 Woodland Creation Sites

Derbyshire's Heartwood Community Forest is seeking a contractor to deliver first-year maintenance works across 21 newly planted woodland creation sites. This is a time-critical contract that includes tender and implementation of the first-year maintenance schedule, essential for establishing tree survival rates and reducing future replacement costs. The successful contractor will undertake specialist tree maintenance work that promotes efficient tree establishment during the critical first-year phase. Thompson's Tree Services has been selected as the preferred contractor at £39,694.20 (excluding VAT), based on competitive pricing and their proven track record having completed the original planting works at these sites. All work is funded through the external DEFRA Trees for Climate fund, with full financial support confirmed. This contract represents an opportunity for experienced tree care contractors to contribute to woodland creation while supporting the establishment of a significant community forest initiative.
