Community Chaplaincy Mentoring Services for Approved Premises in South Wales

This contract involves commissioning Community Chaplain mentors from Bethel Prison Ministry to provide weekly mentoring services at two Approved Premises (APs) in South Wales. Chaplains will engage with residents through one-to-one mentoring sessions to discuss concerns, future plans, and provide critical friendship support. The service uses a relational, holistic approach that considers residents' vulnerabilities, impairments, and emotional wellbeing. Residents can share their stories, identify personal goals, and receive practical support to help them help themselves. Community Chaplains will facilitate reconnection with family, employers, faith communities, and other support networks, while signposting residents to additional resources available after leaving the AP. Residents will access the service through multiple referral pathways including self-referral, staff introductions, Probation Officer referrals, and prison chaplain recommendations. The service aims to support rehabilitation and reintegration through meaningful community connections and personalized mentoring.
