Provision of Wigs for Cancer and Skin Patients

The Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a supplier to provide wigs for patients undergoing treatment in Oncology and Dermatology for a short-term contract of 6 months. The Trust operates across three hospital sites: Southend University Hospital, Basildon University Hospital, and Broomfield Hospital, serving approximately 200 patients annually in these departments. Suppliers will be responsible for providing wigs within specified price limits, with the Trust covering costs directly for patients unless they qualify for prescription exemptions. Patients may choose to purchase higher-quality wigs at their own expense. The maximum contributions from the Trust for wigs are as follows: - £220 for synthetic wigs - £352 for partial human hair wigs (only if the patient has a confirmed allergy to synthetic hair) - £450 for full human hair wigs (only if the patient has a confirmed allergy to synthetic hair) Each patient can receive a maximum of 2 wigs per year, and the ordering can be flexible based on patient preference.
