Collections Management System for Northumberland Archives

Northumberland Archives seeks a Collections Management System (CMS) to manage and provide public access to its extensive holdings. The service preserves records relating to the history of Northumberland, its communities, and people, acquired from official and private sources. The Archives holds approximately 6 miles of records stored in over 30,000 boxes, with nearly all holdings catalogued in the current system. The CMS must support: back-end staff management for cataloguing, organizing, and administering archival records; front-end public access allowing customers to search and browse descriptions, request materials, and view catalogues online; and integration with Study Centre operations where customers view requested materials. Suppliers should demonstrate experience managing large-scale archival collections, providing robust search and retrieval capabilities, supporting both staff workflows and public access interfaces, and ensuring long-term preservation and discoverability of historical records.
