Water Pipeline Construction in Gävle Municipality

Gästrike Vatten has decided to build a joint system solution for drinking water supply in the municipalities of Älvkarleby and Gävle, ensuring a safe water delivery and enabling growth in the region. The Water Supply Project involves the construction of a completely new water supply facility, which includes water extraction from the Dalälven river, surface water treatment for artificial infiltration, infiltration areas, extraction wells, and a water treatment plant with final processing in Älvkarleby municipality. Additionally, process enhancements will be made to existing water treatment plants in Älvkarleby municipality, and transfer pipelines will be constructed in both municipalities. These pipelines will connect the planned water treatment plant to the existing networks of Gävle Vatten and Älvkarleby Vatten. The project is managed by Gävle Vatten AB, a subsidiary of Gästrike Vatten AB. According to the current timeline, the entire project is expected to be completed by 2030. This procurement replaces the previously canceled procurement 14319.
