Management of Recycling and Waste Services

Dorset Council is looking for a single supplier to manage the Household Recycling Centres (HRCs), Waste Transfer Stations (WTS), and related services. This includes the marketing of recyclables collected from households. The service is set to begin on August 28, 2026, and will cover the following key areas: - Operation of ten Household Recycling Centres, including transportation of materials. - Operation of three Waste Transfer Stations, including transportation and marketing of recyclables. - Operation of one Recyclate Transfer Station, including transportation and marketing of recyclables. - Haulage services from one Authority-operated Waste Transfer Station. - Treatment of residual waste and certain recyclables from HRCs. - Provision of skip and bank services. The contract will last for an initial period of 8 years, with the possibility of extending for four additional 12-month periods based on performance and funding, potentially totaling 12 years. The current budget for these services is £7,364,000 for the 2025/26 period. The total contract value may change based on adjustments in scope or funding during the contract duration.
