Renovation of a Children's and Youth Center in Nuremberg

The City of Nuremberg, represented by the Building Authority, is undertaking a renovation project at Untere Talgasse 8, 90403 Nuremberg, to transform the existing building into a Children's and Youth Center, as well as a daycare facility. This property is a significant historical monument in Nuremberg and features a natural monument, a 300-year-old plane tree, located in the old shooting trench of the building. The renovation will include the integration of the Children's and Youth Center on the ground floor and in the column hall, with the daycare facility located on the first floor. The vaulted cellar beneath the west wing will be designated for technical installations, and the eastern extension will include restroom facilities. The project involves hazardous material remediation, structural reinforcement of the roof, facade restoration, and continuation of previous energy efficiency improvements, all while ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and enhancing accessibility. Additionally, the project includes the renovation and redesign of outdoor areas by SÖR, as well as structural and restoration work on the city wall that borders the property.
