Renovation and Expansion of Elementary School in Mittelherwigsdorf

The municipality of Mittelherwigsdorf is seeking architectural and engineering services for the comprehensive renovation and expansion of its elementary school. The goal is to create an attractive, welcoming, modern, and sustainable educational environment. The project involves planning the renovation and transformation of the existing school into a two-stream elementary school with approximately 1,700 square meters of usable space for around 224 children, along with associated outdoor areas at the current location on Hauptstraße 50 in 02763 Mittelherwigsdorf. The school building consists of a protected historic structure and an extension from the 1970s, with a net floor area of about 2,300 square meters. The competition site also includes a daycare building, a sports hall, and a school garden, which are not part of the design task. Additionally, the outdoor sports facilities west of the competition area will be renewed as part of the renovation, but they are also not included in the competition task.
