Construction of Visitor Parking Lot in Frankenwald

The Landkreis Hof is planning to construct a new visitor parking lot for future visitors of two planned pedestrian suspension bridges in the Lohbach and Höllental areas, near Lichtenberg in Upper Franconia. This project will include 400 new parking spaces for cars, 15 new spaces for buses, and 5 spaces for motorhomes, to be built on approximately 25,000 m² between Seestraße and Staatsstraße 2195. The parking spaces will be constructed using grass pavers, with some areas designed for water infiltration. The driveways will be asphalted. Additionally, a bus bay will be built on Seestraße, along with a roundabout to manage access and exits. Path construction will ensure connectivity to the existing gravel parking area next to Frankenwaldsee and provide access to the new visitor center and bridges. The total walking path will be approximately 4.7 km. The project will be awarded in phases, with work expected to commence immediately after the contract is awarded. The contract will utilize forms as per HAV-KOM. The scope of the contract includes: Part I: Object planning according to Section 3, Subsection 4 of traffic facilities as per § 47, HOAI 2021, LPH 1-9 and Part II: Object planning according to Section 3, Subsection 2 of open spaces as per § 39, HOAI 2021, LPH 1-9.
