BIM Manager Services for Quantum Engineering Building at Technical University of Nuremberg

The Technical University of Nuremberg (UTN) is being developed on a 37-hectare site in southern Nuremberg. The first phase includes five founding buildings (GGB), divided into three construction measures (TBM). The third TBM involves the construction of the Quantum Engineering (QE) laboratory building, which will have approximately 1,880 square meters of usable space. A general planner will be contracted for construction phases 2 to 9, focusing on building planning (including fire protection and energy planning), structural planning, technical equipment (HVAC and electrical), laboratory planning, building physics, and services for BNB certification 'Silver' and BIM coordination. The building planning will utilize the BIM method. The total cost for the founding buildings is approximately €103.6 million. The project also includes infrastructure measures to ensure the functional capability of the GGB and its connection to public transport. The QE department will feature various functions, including laboratory spaces for experimental physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, optics, measurement technology, and microscopy, along with offices for professors and staff, project workspaces for students, and meeting rooms. A BIM Manager will be appointed to oversee BIM processes and quality assurance, ensuring the application of the BIM method throughout the project. The BIM Manager will coordinate with the overall BIM coordinator and manage quality assurance processes, assist in creating and updating the project-specific BIM execution plan, and monitor compliance with BIM standards and requirements. The project aims to optimize processes and ensure timely delivery of BIM services.
