Construction of Solar Power Plant at Wesuwe Landfill

The Emsland district, represented by the Emsland Waste Management Authority, is seeking proposals for the construction and operation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) facility on the site of the former Wesuwe landfill. The selected bidder will also provide the district with the option to participate in a project company. The landfill site, located at Neuversener Straße 12, 49733 Haren, has been rehabilitated and is approximately 10 hectares in size. The waste management authority has already prepared preliminary work for a planning approval application, which will be submitted to the Oldenburg Trade Supervisory Office. The authority is looking for a qualified partner to further plan, construct, and operate the solar facility, as well as market the generated electricity. Additionally, the Emsland district intends to potentially acquire up to 49% shares in the newly established operating and marketing company as part of its climate protection initiative. The costs for the entire planning of the project will be borne by the user, including any compensation measures required by environmental laws.
