Senior Advisor for Municipal Council Services

The municipality of Ermelo is seeking a senior advisor to support the council for 16 hours per week due to the maternity leave of the current senior advisor. This position will start on June 1, 2025, and will last for at least 7 months, covering the duration of the leave. The role is based at the Ermelo council office, which is a small and close-knit team of four individuals. Our shared goal is to ensure that the municipal council can effectively carry out its duties, whether that involves organizing meetings or providing substantive advice to council members. Each team member approaches their work with commitment, enthusiasm, and competence. The team's mission is to respond swiftly to the dynamics of the political-administrative environment, and we support each other as needed, all within a friendly atmosphere that allows us to maintain perspective through shared humor. Working hours are flexible and can be arranged in consultation; remote work is also possible. As an interim council advisor, you will primarily facilitate the preparation of the council for annual reports, management reports, framework notes, and program budgets. You will advise the municipal council on planning and control, as well as operational management regarding the use of council instruments or substantive themes. Additionally, you will serve as the secretary for the audit committee, advising and supporting this committee, and acting as the contact person for the accountant. You will also provide unsolicited advice to council members, organize council meetings such as those of the audit committee, and serve as the table clerk when necessary.
