Bridge Construction Project in Prešov

The project involves the construction of a new bridge to replace the existing one, which will be demolished. The bridge is located on a local collector road on Škultétyho Street in Prešov. The current bridge does not meet the required standards for bridge opening and river flow of the Torysa River, and it has limited load capacity. The goal of the proposed reconstruction is to enhance road safety and traffic flow, improve the comfort of road users by adding a bicycle path connected to the cycling route network, extend the lifespan of the affected structures, and improve the drainage system with minimal alteration to the Torysa River bed. The construction will include modifications to local roads from approximately km -0.01877 to 0.20000, with a bus stop in front of the bridge. The total length of the reconstructed road on Škultétyho Street is about 218.77 meters, demolition of the existing bridge, construction of a new bridge with an expanded bicycle path, modifications to local roads on 17.Novembra Street (length 73.95 m) and Štúrová Street (length 25.0 m), access road managed by SVP a.s. (length 45.13 m), and relocation of the EUROVELO 11 bicycle path (length 100.22 m) with a smooth connection to the bridge and relocation of utility networks. The contract includes the following activities: • Demolition of the existing bridge • Construction of a new bridge • Modification of local roads and intersections • Modification of the access road managed by SVP a.s. • Construction and modification of the EUROVELO 11 bicycle path.
