Design Study for the Reconfiguration of Sterneneiland in Zeebrugge Port

The Port of Antwerp Bruges is seeking a contractor to conduct a civil engineering design study for the reconfiguration of the Sterneneiland in the outer harbor of Zeebrugge. This project follows a previous feasibility study and hydromorphological and nautical assessments, which will serve as the foundation for the design. The required structures include a vertical retaining wall and a rockfill dam, both of which need further design and dimensioning. Expected tasks for the contractor include: conducting measurements (including 3D where necessary), processing and interpreting results; inventorying existing information such as soil and material studies, and utility presence; reviewing and interpreting calculation notes related to new or changed loads on existing structures; preparing sketch designs, preliminary designs, and final design documents with a focus on economic and practical solutions; creating clear calculation notes for local and global stability, welding calculations, fatigue assessments, and strength calculations; performing vibration analyses and predictions; attending meetings and preparing related reports; developing a 3D BIM model for use during construction; producing detailed execution drawings; preparing environmental impact reports and necessary studies; compiling a complete permit application for environmental approval; coordinating safety design; and assisting the client during construction.
