Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Installation for Herbolzheim Emergency Services

The City of Herbolzheim is constructing a new joint emergency center for the fire department and the German Red Cross (DRK) in Herbolzheim. The facility will consist of two floors (ground and first floor) and will not have a basement. It is classified as a building of class 3. A training tower with multiple practice balconies will be built in the northwest for training purposes. The main entrance will be located on the south side of the building, with primary access via Westendstraße and SH-Allee. In case of an emergency, emergency vehicles from the volunteer fire department and the emergency center will exit to the north via the alarm exit onto Rheinhausenstraße. An entrance for returning emergency vehicles is also planned on Rheinhausenstraße. The total building volume is 17,419.68 m³, with a total floor area of 3,482.77 m² and a usable area of 2,527.17 m². The heating will be provided by a wood chip heating system, with an external heating center constructed in a prefabricated manner. Heating in the administrative area will be through underfloor heating, while the halls will use industrial floor heating. The heating work is scheduled to begin in week 7 of 2026 and is expected to be completed by week 1 of 2027.
